I'm 77 and really have only one ongoing issue. I do take several vitamins and nutrients everyday, including Omega-3, Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM, vitamin C, D, etc. But getting going in the morning is difficult with lower back pain, I think it is the lowest major spinal disk only. My height has shrunk 1-2" over the last few years, due to flattening disks, per my doctor. Once I get walking around, it goes away, except when I spend time lifting things. No problems with any other joints or with arthritis. Thx!
Please help with tinnitus. I removed three mercury fillings in January and February 2021 then received the covid vac in March. In September 2021 I started noticing tinnitus in my right ear. I still have it today but I believe heavy metals and possibly the Epstein-Barr virus has come out of dormancy and is plaguing me with this horrible condition. Do you have any thoughts or ideas how to get rid of some thing that no doctors say there isn’t a cure? I’m actively removing heavy metals and eating very well it has not helped much. It keeps it low but not gone. It is very disturbing to my sleep and mental ability. Trying to keep your mind off of it and no stressing helps but I want it gone. I cannot understand how a symptom can be in this world that no doctors, have a cure for. Is it a brain condition?? I had an MRI it was totally clear my auditory nerve is just fine I’ve seen the ENT I’ve had hearing tests nothing is wrong, so why did I get this? Is it the metals mercury going to my brain? Is it virus, a low viral activity that is very difficult to remove? I don’t know I do know it has to leave my body so I can enjoy myself again find joy in this world again, and have fun in my every day living. Right now I’m just getting by..I’m alive thanking God every day and being grateful but I’m truly not living and experiencing all life has to offer. I have a wonderful family. I love them dearly and want to have fun with them every single day, but I cannot live with this symptom anymore. I have to find something to get rid of this. Cleansing my liver, avoiding inflammatory foods, distressing, removing metals, gently, not in a harsh way, is all I am doing I don’t know what else to do. Thank you. :(
My daughter was just diagnosed with Type I diabetes - she was completely healthy as a child and has never had a single medical issue and at 17 suddenly gets diabetes… neither my wife nor my family have ever had a case of it in our history. What other environment factors can trigger this and could a Covid vaccine be that trigger?
Just had a cardio stress test (tread mill with EKG) and lipids blood test. Historically my lipids have been
HDL = 60 and LDL = 140-180 or totals of 200- 250. I took crestor for several years and the best lipid were 180 -200 with HDL remaining unchanged. The most current test was
HDL=75 LDL = 70 and always had low triglycerides (not on statin). I stopped taking crestor about 2 years ago and went heavy into minerals supplements and vitamins to protect my body from or against severe flu like disease. EKG was good as well. Had a stress test last year was surprised he ordered a new one, must be because of all the heart inflammation going around.
The only other health issue was my sudden hearing loss (lost 1/2 my hearing) in one ear two weeks after severe vertigo with severe nausea in October 21 that landed me in emergency room. The ear doctor calls this Meniere’s disease. After hearing stabilized (6-months) began taking 125 mg of acetazolamide 2x per day. I hate this stuff but it keeps my ear pressure (aural fullness) under control. I have not found any more natural substitute for the Diamox. If you know of anything that may help with the fullness please let me know.
I believe it was glutathione that you wrote enables the clearing of cholesterol waste that statins create?
And with regard to BP lipo versus water based meds.
Does taking fish oil for omega 3 promote the damage to the brain that you also discussed recently?
I hope my questions ring a bell.
I’ve been wanting to ask these two questions and since this link expires and it’s very late I don’t have time to do refresh your references to be more succinct.
For blood pressure, we'd be looking at preventing free radical damage to nitrous oxide (NO), otherwise the signalling of blood vessels to dilate becomes less strong and the vessels become more constricted.
Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) from fish would be helpful in supporting brain health, but the problem will come if they are oxidised into something that's reactive and damaging. More other nutrients help to support brain functions too (https://thethinkingscientist.substack.com/p/brain-nutrients).
The liver eliminates cholesterol waste through the intestines (and poop).
Statins prevent the liver from producing fresh cholesterol, but the intestines can reabsorb the waste cholesterol into the blood (and back into the liver). Therein lies the problem.
I am increasingly desperate to help a friend who is facing a few complications. Due to poor nutrition during the early years, we assume, he is an almost 50 Asian male who has been diagnosed with osteoporosis. I make lots of properly prepared whole foods at home every day, and there is little industrial food in our cupboards, and he doesn't smoke or drink a lot and does exercise as he can, but food alone can't win this battle.
I have encouraged him to supplement with K2, D3, Magnesium, and Calcium. Would Zinc be helpfuI? I will prepare natto for him as it is such a rich source of K2, and increase the amount of fermented foods we consume, but I wonder if krill or fish oil may be a valuable addition to his regimen? Any other suggestions by the way?
We'd have to look at the techniques behind weight loss.
Generally speaking, reducing carbohydrate consumption and putting in muscle-building exercises was somewhat helpful for me, but even then, I'd be a liar if I said that I had zero hanging belly fat!

Brain inflammation as evidenced on MRI. Hx diabetes, type II, controlled with Metformin.
Metformin controls absorption of glucose into the blood from the intestines, but its mechanism is not well understood.
Brain inflammation as evidenced on MRI?

Hi Todd,
Unfortunately most autoimmune disorders can be triggered with no rhyme or reason. It’s not easy to find out the root cause of the issue.
Is it something that went wrong with cellular DNA reproduction? Possible, but tough to tell.
Is it something that could have been triggered by the COVID vaccine? Also possible, but tough to tell.
What other inflammatory factors could have contributed? Perhaps stress wise or sleep quality wise? Those things could play a part too!
Thanks Dr Yong.

Unfortunately I have not that much background in ear pressure. Shall keep a lookout for it!
Regular ENT's do not deal with it. They send patients to ear specialist.
The doctor said that it is usually the cochlear that ruptures and reheals.

Hi Jon,
I don't think I mentioned it was the glutathione that enables the clearing of cholesterol waste - but rather, we'd be looking at dietary fibre (https://thethinkingscientist.substack.com/p/cholesterol-accumulation).
For blood pressure, we'd be looking at preventing free radical damage to nitrous oxide (NO), otherwise the signalling of blood vessels to dilate becomes less strong and the vessels become more constricted.

Hope this helps!
You mean nitric oxide. Nitrous oxide is N2O.
Thanks for spotting that!
Thank you! Again!
Ill do a deeper dive and see if I can find the orignal articles that crested the orignal question
It was related to inadequate clearing of cholesterol that is created by taking statins.
Something about the statin sending cholesterol waste and it being cleared by the liver. I thought it was glutathione that assisted in the elimination
Thanks!!
Ah! You're looking for this video (https://thethinkingscientist.substack.com/p/balance).

Again I am in your debt.
Your writings and sharing is an incredible gift to my continuing well being.
I’m 70 and teaching Pilates and swimming 2 mi a week.
So I can be able to contribute to community.
Darn, I can only aim to be like you when I'm 70!
You have so much knowledge. Apply the wealth of you mind to the love of the body and you will thrive
Just wake up and give your body what it needs and then when it responds give it a little more in the evening… it’s addictive.
K2, D3, magnesium and calcium are all essential, you’re on the right track!
What would be helpful too would be a boost of proanthocyanidin flavonoids and, as you are thinking of, fish oil can be beneficial too.
Do check out the previous article I’ve written about the dynamic equilibrium in bone formation:

Is there a difference between MK-4 and MK-7?
Which is better?
